Unique & interesting. We enjoyed the atmosphere & entertainment. A unique and interesting experience. We felt very comfortable and welcomed almost as if we had been there before. The total visit to Rudyard Kipling was a calming surprise. The entertainment performed by Joesph Arthur & Polly Pulsulma was excellent! I look forward to returning again soon.

Poets, musicians, community thespians, and barflies all frequent this theater and lounge.. The Scene
Located in the heart of downtown Louisville, the Rudyard Kipling is an oasis of music, food, literature, and good drink. Owners Ken Pyle and Sheila Joyce are longtime supporters of the arts and music in Louisville. They ran one of the city's first rooms dedicated to bluegrass (a young picker named Vince Gill got his first job there) and have turned the "Rud" into an eclectic showcase.

The Stage
On any given night you might find an original production by the Roundtable Players, a local theater act. You may also catch touring and local musicians from many different genres of music, as well as poets reciting their work.

While You're There
Up front, a lounge dedicated to comfort and conversation revolves around a small bar and a full-service kitchen that specializes in recipes from around the world.
