The BEST dive bar ever.. I have been frequenting the Magnolia Bar for almost 5 years now. It is the only bar that I have ever walked into and felt immediately welcome. I don't just go there because of their great drink specials. The bartenders are attentive, warm, witty and great conversationalists. I can say the same about the regulars. I often find myself discussing anything from science to science fiction, history, books, music, movies...and I have been introduced to so many amazing and new things just from listening or joining the conversations.

They also have things going on during the week for whatever suits your taste, such as Tuesday nigiht trivia, Wednesday a huge college dance party. Thursday, Woodrow on the radio is spinning awesome vinyl. And on the weekends you can be entertained by good live music whether you like death metal to alt country or anywhere in between.

So go and soak up the assorted personalities and cheap drink specials. I'm glad I did.

WORST bar ever. I was at this bar last night bc some girl friends decided to go out for some dancing. The bar had one bathroom and the door didn't close (and it was disgusting) so we did our girl thing and all went in. People outside the door started to become aggressive, everyone had to wait for a really long time even us to use the bathroom. They started to kick at the door violently and almost knocked me down as I was the one holding the door so the other girls could pee. They then broke a beer bottle around the door area - not sure if it was dropped, thrown - whatever. None of the employees at the bar tried to stop these people and no one cleaned up the glass. The bar had a great staff, stiff drinks and good music so I don't know why security is neglected but it is an issue as kentucky state laws inquire: # Many states hold commercial vendors of alcohol, such as bars, taverns and package stores responsible for injury caused by drunk patrons

# Laws in most states require the injured person suing a commercial alcohol vendor to prove that the serving of alcohol was a "proximate cause" of the injury

# Commercial vendors are liable for injuries caused by an intoxicated customer if they serve liquor to him after he was visibly intoxicated

Yeah this bar is looking for a lawsuit....

The absolute worst bar in the kentucky/ohio/indiana/illinois area. If your idea of fun place to go is a place cram packed with underage scene kid losers, then mag bar is the spot for you!! They don't card anybody, and they have a regular free pizza night which attracts all of the emo loser kids in the city, who think their band is gonna be the next fall out boy. Save yourself the aggrevation and go somewhere else. Sleeved out, wannabe rockstars who think they're tough can get annoying very quickly, and this place is full of em.

cool chill spot. great prices on beer and shots, good happy hour, and they have a few pool tables. great crowd, mostly a mix of 20 somethings. good atmostphere and a great place to meet ppl. usually good service as long as it's not too crowded.

This Old Louisville neighborhood bar has cheap drinks, a stellar jukebox and a welcoming attitude. Just behave yourself.. The Scene

A college-aged crowd packs the place late in the evening, but all are welcomed. One rule: no knuckleheads. Test this simple law and you'll find yourself out on the sidewalk rather than in one of the spot's two rooms. The decor is sparse but the prize decoration is a poster of J. Edgar Hoover with sexy mannequin legs sprouting from his lower half.

The Booze

There's a handful of beers on tap including Bud, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and Killian's Red. A selection of bottled domestics and imports expands your sudsy options, while a full bar pours out the usual cocktails.

While You're There

The back room has four pool tables that are constantly occupied on weekends. A broad mix of music plays from the stellar jukebox, putting a little pep in everyone's step.
