Tips for Diva Studio & Day Spa

August 27, 2012

I really like this salon. The stylists are nice, professional and I always like my hair. With regards to the other posts here, I must say, I am so glad that they strictly adhere to a no child policy and am pretty alarmed that a mother would not understand respect and expect this policy? It is entirely inappropriate to bring your kid to a classy salon/spa (among other places ie. fancy restaurants, rated r movies...) When I spend a couple hundred dollars in a spa environment, the last thing I want to see or hear is a strangers kid running around or crying or whining or coloring or whatever. This is not a daycare center. Nothing about having someone else's kids around is relaxing- Not to mention the fact that it is unsafe (irons, chemicals, glass, mirrors, scissors, razors, wax...). Thank you Diva Salon for keeping kids out- as well as their parents questionable judgement.

Have you visited lately?. I've been going to Diva for many years for many services. I've listened to the hopes and dreams of expansion to benefit their clients and now had the opportunity to experience great results. The new facility is an oasis unmatched by other salons in the area. No commercialized Z Salon for me, I prefer the small, friendly atmsohere of DIVA!

Diane, leads her professional staff with humor, kindness and unparralled conversation. Peggy and her team work hard to ensure that each client is given the utmost courtesy in trying to fulfill their beauty or spa needs.

The professionals at Diva provide a great atmosphere of warmth and friendship for both men and women. Getting your hair cut, colored or using any of their spa servces is done in an atmosphere of community while maintaining the highest professional standards. No one is a stranger.

I am going to assume that the disgruntled mother of an ealrier reviewer has not yet learned that when adults go for a personal service they are not there to be distracted by your children. We go there for our time not yours.

Thank you Divas for not being afraid to uphold your policy...incidently clearly stated at their front desk. I would guess if it wasn't mentioned to this mother earlier it was because she most likely neglected to mention that the child would be coming.

Next time, please give yourself a break, if you don't have any funds left over from spending hundreds of dollars on your hair each month - broker some child care from a friend, relative or better yet spouse. Treat yourself to some solitude where the pampering is done by professional staff without gult or worry about what a little one is up to.

A great friend of mine once said from one mother of four boys to another...if you don't start asking your firends for a little help sometimes, you are going to go stark raving mad...incidentially she is the one who sent me to Diva!

Thank you Diva!

Great Service, Great Conversation, Great Haircut!!!. I got my hair highlighted and cut on Wednesday, and had a great experience. My appointment was at 1:30, and when I walked in I was greeted by the receptionist and taken back right away (no wait). The colorist was awesome! We had good conversation, I was offered something to drink and a magazine while my color set. Then after that I got my hair cut by Megan, who did a great job!!! Overall, the experience was relaxing and enjoyable. I would recommend Diva to all my friends!

Now to comment on the other comments below........

I suppose common sense was out the door when these other women came to Diva with their children. I know no one who would bring their children to a salon and SPA. I have 2 children myself and I would never bring them, for the concern of other people there wanting a relaxing time. The last time I checked, a salon and spa was not also a daycare. I don't care if your child is 4 months or 7 yrs old, it is not the place to bring children. I think it's obsurd that they would comment negatively on a small business for not using their common sense. Shame on you! I wish City Search would remove these comments as they are useless and silly.

Mothers....don't bother!!!. Don 't bother going here. What an unfriendly place. I showed up for my appointment with my 7 year old, who was sitting quietly, minding her own business. The receptionist came over to me to tell me there was a no child policy. Such BS. They did not mention this when I made the appointment, nor in their voicemail, confirming my appointment. It is totally unacceptable for a business to not be considerate of my time. What if I had driven several miles to get there? How about a reimbursement of my mileage and time?! Fine, if a business who caters to mostly women, wants such a stupid policy, then they should have at least let me get my haircut this one time. I spend hundreds of dollars a month on my hair, so their loss. Go to Z Salon! They have the same policy, but unless the child is unruly, they are welcome. I bring my daughter there all the time!

Diva Salon in Crestwood. If you are a mother, be warned!!! This salon has a no child policy. When I called to make an appointment and mentioned that I would be bringing my four-month-old to my 9 am appointment, they said they strictly adhere to a NO CHILD policy.

Well. I guess I'll just leave her on the hood of the car.

How's that for a women friendly business? You'd think that a female focused salon would be in tune with female issues such as, ahem, motherhood. I'm not talking about bringing in a lively toddler during a 3 hour appointment. I'm talking about a 30 minute haircut.

Dear Salon Diva, The baby is 4 months old. She just sits in the car seat and sleeps.

I don't think it will be too hard to find another salon to take my money.

Don't support this kind of discrimination against mothers who are home during the day with their children.

I had the best salon experience, thanks to Shannon. I absolutely loved this salon. I just went for the first time and fell in love with Shannon. She was awesome and gave me the best haircut I have ever received at a professional salon. She's my new stylist and I will be going to her often! Thanks!

Both good and less than good to report and recommend.. I have experienced haircut, color, and spa treatments at Diva Salon and have both good and less than good to report. It seems to me that Diva is trying to be an exclusive spa/salon, but they just do not have the facilities to make it. The spa pedicure is one of the best I have ever experienced, but the other spa treatments I tried are below average. When I pay for spa treatments I expect to feel pampered, but Diva does not come close to a proper spa atmosphere. The spa facilities are cramped and overall ambiance is lacking. For haircuts, Megan is excellent; but I had a less than pleasant experience with the hair colorist.

very pleased. Living in Louisville for about four years now, I've tried just about every type of salon you can imagine. Big, small, well-known, hole in the wall...you name it. Driving home the other day I passed Diva Studio. I stopped in to make an appointment and not only was I greeted warmly upon arrival, the receptionist was able to schedule me for color and cut in less than a weeks time! I am getting married in March and putting my hair into someone's hands that I didn't know was certainly nerve-wrecking to say the least. Though I was nervous I am so glad I did it. The colorist was very in tune to my "vision" and in addition to listening thoughtfully, she threw in some ideas of her own, which was great! The stylist who cut my hair, named as new-talent, cut my hair with precision and confidence which was incredibly comforting. I think I have finally found my salon and will not only return for color and cut but for spa services as well.

Diva Salon and Day Spa. Today was my first visit to Diva Salon. The stylist that did my hair at another salon had begun working there recently and I wanted to follow her. Everyone said hello to me as I entered, very friendly. I was also surprised to see the lady that colored my hair at one time had moved to Diva Salon so I made an appointment to have that done. All the products I use on my hair were there to purchase. The owner showed me the day spa after I had finished, very lovely place, clean and many service available. I walked away feeling like I found the place I want to have my hiar done from now on.

Unfriendly. After moving to the area finding a new spa/salon that you like is allways difficult!! When I first visited the salon I signed up for the Diva for a day, I found the spa very cramped having to eat lunch in the hallway was definetly a turn off. My day was very unsatisfactory.. I later returned for highlights and a cut, I first discovered the lady I was previously booked with had left and I was assigned to 2 new stylist, nobody at the salon called to ask if this was ok with me. While having my hair highlighted I listened to the receptionist discuss previous clients and lauging about them. I really liked the cut but found the lady that coloured my hair was not listening to what I wanted. When I was leaving the salon after paying I turned around to see the receptionist talking about me and laughing. I do not think that this is the way that any paying customer should be treated.
