I live in Elizabethtown, Ky I love to drive to Indiana to greentree pet center! They have an excellent selection of salt water fish and coral! I have never had any trouble with anything I've bought from there. I drive over an our to get there then an hour home and I've never had a fish die! I would recommended this store to anyone!

Cruel to there rodent's

I hate giving bad reviews especially about Greentree Pet since I grew up around that store but I have my reasons.

Many people who have been there have probably seen the back room were the reptiles are kept but there are also birds and different types of rodents.

Its is miserably hot back there and the heat only becomes worse with the fact that the animals are in small glass tanks stacked atop each other, I have been back there many times and see empty dry water bottles and no food, pregnant rodents many of which half the time are to young to be giving birth and injuries.

I have seen many animals back there with small/large bites, damaged or missing parts like paws or eyes, worst of all was a recent injury I saw.

A rat had to drag itself across the cage, its hind end was swollen along with its feet that dragged behind the poor thing, this is usually caused by a injured spine or pelvis.

The front of the store with the fish, birds and occasional cat is perfectly fine and the staff very nice but that back room is a living nightmare .

I refuse to shop there any longer.

Greentree Pet Center

I have been buying ALL of my aquarium needs here for quite a few years now, and not once have I personally seen bad conditions of any sort,& as for the staff that work there, have always treated Me & my wife the way you would treat family. All I can say is, that you will not get any better any where in Clark Co. Love you guys and will be a true & faithful customer. Greentree Pet Center ROCKS.

Ok I guess.

I like the store because they have a very wide variety of pet supplies. BUT I would not buy any fish there ever again. I have bought a total of 4 fish there. The first one died before I got it home. The second one lived for less than 24 hours after bringing it home and the last 2 developed fit and tail rot almost immediately. I was able to save one by nursing it back to health in my hospital tank. So please don't be fooled by their great selection and look very closely at the health of the other fish in the store.

When your fish die do you all ever think it might be your tank, Not the store. take a sample of your water in with you before you get fish from any store have them check it for you. greentree does this for free. They love to help, so why not help your life to be better by testing your water first. Yes your fish might be ok, They have adjusted to it because they live in it. You add new fish to the tank that are use to other water they may not live. Always have your water tested first!
