Winner of local audience awards for several years running, this garden center and nursery manages locations all over Louisville. But don't mix it up with the chains. Every store has its own feel, with its own specialty items. Customer service is paramount, and all employees are required to have knowledge of gardening and participate in a training program.

Local flower societies often recommend Frank's for its selection of bulbs. In addition, decorate your backyard with numerous trees, shrubs, perennials and annuals. Stock up on tools and mulch, and then complete the picture with decorative paving stones and other garden decorations in the gift shop.
