The popular downtown eatery allows guests to dine on authentic Italian and Persian dishes without traveling overseas. During the week, the eatery is typically bustling with employees on their lunch break. However, the weekend reveals a transformed quiet and romantic atmosphere. Inside, original artwork by Haydar Hatemi hang on the walls creating a unique atmosphere. Locals visiting the Notable menu items include hearty appetizers around $5, rich and robust pastas for $13, stuffed grape leaves and boneless lamb kabobs priced at $15.

the best Persian food in Louisville. finally got a chance to experience Pesto's recently and regret only having not gone there sooner! I was totally blown away! you get a lot of awesome food and a really great variety of tastes and textures. The dining room is most inviting, but it's the food -- well-seasoned and well-priced that really shines. Do try the various kebabs - flavored with a luscious marinade of saffron and Olive oil -- and all entrees are served with mountains of fragrant Basmati Saffron rice. Love love love this place! Amazing food !!!

Exquisite Multi-Cultural Cuisine. Pesto's is an exquisite multi-cultural cuisine excellent service, and high quality food (both Italian and Persian). They serve Persian and Italian on weekends for Dinner Friday and Saturday. Dining in style!

persian army. We went for lunch for a quick bite and as my colleague stated "it's italian held hostage by the persian army" The noodles and sauce were missing anything italian with an over abundance of anise .. I also had some hidden bonus tinfoil in my eggplant parmagian. The food was reasonably priced, we did get quick service and they do have a good looking web site. but i'll be passing on pesto's for chef boyardee in the future...

Incredible!. After reading other reviews I had to try out Pesto's. Let me say that every bite was delicious! The spinach salad was not only simple and great tasting but it was also aesthetically appealing. I followed up with the chicken parm which was awesome. Although stuffed, I had to try the cheescake for dessert. Overall the atmosphere was romantic and quiet with light jazz playing over the speakers. Highly recommend you check this place out.

An Undiscovered Gem. Two recent visits to Pesto's dazzled everyone in our party. Everything - from creative appetizers to delicious, homemade desserts - were gourmet creations. A Tahchin entree (with Saffron rice & Barberries) was truly memorable.



The atmosphere is low-key and lovely. Topping it off, the menu offers an amazing value. We actually enjoyed it more, both times, than a recent "splurge" meal at fancy, mega-expensive, restaurants!

Excellent dining experience. This is a wonderful find. Very warm, friendly service, great food and lots of it. The food is filled with intoxicating flavor, and every bite is more scrumptuous than the next. This is a great place for couples who want to have a bite before going to the theatre. I highly recommend this restaurant. Check it out-you will love it!

The Best Kabab in Town!. I tried out Pesto's Persian food on a Friday night, and was absolutely amazed at the excuisite quality you get for the reasonable prices. We tried the Pesto's signiture kabab, which is a mouthwatering skewers of beef, marinated chicken, and steak on a bed of basmati rice... it was delicious! What topped it all of was the Napoleon dessert with hot persian tea! Mamamia!! A must have!
