The Best Gay/Lesbian Bar. This place has really got it going on....the MC for the drag shows will keep you in tears from laughing so-o hard. The bathroom's could use some remodeling, and the cover is W-A-Y 2 H-I-G-H!!!. They need to take all the money from the cover charge and purchase some addional parking, because you are going to walk a distance then pay the the 18.00 to get in.....and hope not to get mug going from or to your car.

All in all the best a great place with great people.

Variety of environments in one multi-bar complex. The main bars in The Connection cater to young gay men and women as well as young straight people. (I can't use the L-word because Citysearch's computer told me it was inappropriate!) If you pay the cover, you can go into the large disco with fancy lighting--it is extremely loud, but people seem to have fun. There are some smaller, quieter areas off of the dance bar where one could have a conversation. Also within the cover charge is a large well-equipped theatre which hosts drag performance (mostly lip-synching to dance anthems in elaborate costume). Some of the performers appear to be in gender transition (i.e., real breasts). The host(ess) is outrageous and truly funny. The place is packed late nights on weekends. On the south side of the building is another bar to which cover is not required. It's a 2-story place with an outside patio upstairs. This one does not really seem to have a personality at this point. To the north along Floyd Street is Boots, with its separate entrance. It caters to older, bear and leather types. Only men are allowed in. Boots is extremely dark and I won't go into the various activities that occur in its dark recesses. One draw-back of all of these bars is that the drinks are expensive by local standards (a 4 dollar bottle of water, for example). Parking can be difficult, but is available if you walk a couple of blocks.
