Been going for years.... The food is ALWAYS amazing. The service was too, until last night. Our server was so rude, that it was almost amusing. Not only did he ignore us the entire time, but he had a very snotty attitude. I was appalled and plan to call management tomorrow. I wont mention names, however ANOTHER server who recognized us from our frequent visits there was nice enough to check on us and refill our drinks. His name was Andrew and he is an absolute pleasure to deal with..he should give lessons to his co worker.

Favorite Chinese restaurant in Louisville. My guy and I have been going here since they renovated it a few years ago. The building and interior are contemporary and beautiful. The food is excellent. My favorites are the spicy chicken peanut, sweet and sour chicken, and their noodle disk (don't remember the name, but it's basically like a chicken lo mein), all served on the lunch menu. Though their dishes has somewhat fancy names, there are a lot of traditional dishes that are extremely well done; they have mananged to formulate a "perfect" balance to the tastes, so they are yummy without being overwhelming. Lunch is very affordable (around $6-7) and comes with either soup or spring roll. Dinner is about twice as much and all a la carte, but you do get more food. Service depends on the server, which is too bad - the owners should really fix this! We've had excellent service to poor service (usually inattentive or slow if it's bad service). Their teas and drinks and excellent, and they have a large bar and cocktail area. It can definitely be loud when it's busy, so pass on this if you're looking for something quiet and intimate. I'd pass on the desserts; though sweet, they are definitely nothing special.

Always Good. This place is always good and we always have leftovers! I, for one, do not like the atmosphere. Because of the vaulted ceiling, etc, the acoustics are terrible and you can hear the conversation from every table. I prefer carry-out. I love tofu and ask them to specially prepare it a certain way for me. No prob. That's a great restaurant! Flavors are great, service always good.

Bad Service. Even though the food is average, I would not recommend due to bad service. It might be that the servers are responsible for too many tables. This has happened twice.

Great!. Extensive menu. Nummy food. Prices are good. Ambience is contemp. Very nice little place to take your friends, family, *dates* (this place would be AWSOME for a date), and anything else.

Think asian restaurant, not just chinese.

All the food we had was excellent.

I was a little disappointed to find that the tempura is a thick Chinese-sweet-and-sour style batter, not the flakey Japanese kind.

It's an everyone-gets-their-own-dish kind of place, not family style. Doesn't mean you can't share, but it does mean that there aren't a whole lot of left-overs.

We go to the August Moon everytime we're in town visiting our family. When my husband and I eloped, the August Moon was the place where I first met my new family-in-law. Now it will be the first place that my in-laws meet my family-family.

The August Moon is a great place to go. Very tasty!

August Moon. THE BEST CHINESE I HAVE EVER HAD! I have dined in New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Boston, etc. and have yet to come across a place quite like AM. The food is wonderful and the atmosphere is a match. I highly recomend August Moon.

Eat in or take out. Either way, spicy Chinese and Malaysian specialties make this modest restaurant a Louisville favorite.. The Scene
This unassuming little restaurant has only a couple dozen tables, but boasts an extensive menu directed by the same chef as the more upscale Asiatique. The interior is a bit run down, so if you're seeking a spiffy atmosphere, order your food to go.

The Food
August Moon's chef turns out definitive classics like lemon chicken, beef with peanuts, and an array of fried rice and lo mein dishes. All ingredients are of the highest quality and very fresh. Spicy Malaysian entrees and at least a dozen of the flavorful vegetarian dishes are also suitable for vegans, but even a carnivore will love the hot Szechuan green beans. Servers will happily refill your bowl of addictive crispy noodles.
