This upscale suburban bistro caters to sophisticated clientele in search of elegant fare.. The Scene


The shopping-center environs have been camouflaged with a wrought-iron fence and verdant trees and shrubs to create a pleasant outdoor courtyard. Inside, low lights barely illuminate the bistro's modern decor. Ladies do lunch here, but dinner is popular with politicians, business types and couples celebrating special occasions. A clubby bar adjoins the restaurant through a separate entrance.



The Food


Classic bistro fare at reasonable prices. A light vinaigrette laced with juicy sun-dried cherries tops fresh mesculun greens. Chewy vegetable potstickers and crisp-fried calamari with fennel-seasoned dipping sauce are great starters. Yukon gold potato and celery root gratin pairs perfectly with caramelized grilled salmon and wilted Swiss chard. The mile-high tomato- and zucchini-studded ratatouille, gooey with melting goat cheese, is a vegetarian's delight. Desserts can be as simple as warm blackberry cobbler with ice cream to a subtle ginger cr?me brulee.
