Avoid For Profit Colleges. My daughter went to BMC for one year and it was a nightmare. She had a 3.0+ GPA in high school, yet they kept her in their remedial classes, which did not count toward her degree, for nearly the entire year. One of her class finals was 5 questions, none of which pertained to the class. They were questions about basketball, the Louisville Cardinals, etc. She learned absolutely nothing yet she is several thousand dollars debt in student loans. When she told them she wanted to go on limited attendance and drop at the end of the semester, they dropped her that day but did not tell her. Now she owes thousands of dollars directly to BMC also. This has happened to more than just her. I would NOT recommend BMC to anyone. Stick with not-for-profit colleges and universities.…
It is what you make it. I'm not going to sit here and bash BMC like every other review I have seen online, overall it was a pleasent college experience that thus far has not paid off. I hope it will one day,but thus far it has not helped me earn one dollar more then I would've before I spent 2years and $25,000 with BMC....Overall the faculty at BMC is very helpful and friendly. Most all the teachers I had while going there were great.Far better then what I had expected going into the thing. The Financial Aid office was very helpful of course lol.The principal and vice principals were very good while I was there. My big HUGE beef with BMC Louisville lies with their job placement or career assistance department. They totally failed me as a student of BMC.Just know going into the thing it is and always will be all about the money for BMC.The admissions staff will tell you all these great things about how the career services staff will get you a great job after your education, and they will even help you find a job while in school if needed, but the truth is most of the jobs you are offered by career services are stuff you couldve found yourself in the paper or online, and in most cases you dont even need the BMC college education to qualify..Honestly if I could do it over again I would not have went there. The student loan payments once you get out are outrageous, around $300per month, financial aid told me i would pay around $80-$100.They didnt find me a job in my field. The only nice thing i have to say about BMC Louisville are the teachers and education are pretty good for a totally FOR PROFIT College.…
Too expensive!. I am in the nursing program, which by the way is $350 per credit hour. Through out my attending Brown Mackie I have seen so many people come and go due to financial aid. One student had to drop out with one week left of class and had already completed 5 classes there. Everyone I have talked to there (students) have to pay out of their own pocket each month anywhere from $90 to $300 on top of book and supplies. I recently had to meet with financial aid and now they are asking me to pay over $500 a month to attend their college. I am now weighing the decision on whether or not I should stay or go. If I go I would just be another of their statistics. There is not much organization there as well, half of the faculty have no clue what is going on. Overall if you want to pay big university prices to go to a ho-hum school then Brown Mackie is the right school for you. I would not recommend this school to anyone. I could not agree more with the previous review as well, very true.…
