Arete is now RP Properties, BEWARE of BOTH. Beware! Arete has changed their name to RP Properties. Avoid RP Properties! They are an awful company to rent from. We have had so many problems with them. They were super nice and helpful at first but as soon as we moved in, they ignored our requests, emails, and phone calls.

Reconsider. I lived in an Arete Building for a little over a year. I'm not going to scream and rant like most upset lessees would in my situation. For the first 7 months I was there things were pretty reasonable. Other than having some really old appliances, really old carpet, and a floorboard or two coming up; it was a pretty nice apartment. It was big for what I paid and close to campus. However about 7 months in we had a windstorm that severely damaged the roof of the building. It should have been fixed within one month. One month is a reasonable time for something of that magnitude to be fixed. The windstorm was in 2008. The roof and gutters were finally repaired in spring of 09. During this time our next door neighbors ceiling collapsed from the leaking roof and water damage covered the east half of the building. This caused the plaster in the walls to expand and react creating a white crusty covering on many of the walls, which were then sanded lightly and painted over. This didn't stop the water damage so they ended up painting about 4 times in 2 months.

Also, you will probably never speak from management. I requested the owner call me on several occasions via e-mail and phone messages at the office. I never recieved a call. I would also direct everyone searching for apartments to take a close look at the Bureau of Better Business website on this apartment complex.

Great customer service. I lived in this property for 3.5 years and never had any problem. I only left b/c i moved in with my finace who already had her own place. It was close to school, quiet, clean and they kept up with the place. I would definitely reccomend to anyone thinking of living there.
