Tips for Jeffersontown Family Practice

I can tell you from my past experience that I disagree with all the negative posts above. I am one of Dr. Wheeler's first patients - he is a godsend, a great compassionate and very knowledgeable physician.

Saved my mothers life.. Amy found the lump in my mother's breast which resulted in the double mastectomy that saved her life. If you know you are in danger you go to an EMERGENCY ROOM. If you need a primary care doctor you can count on these people to be thorough and professional.

Outragous new hippa form. I have been going to J-Town family practice since they first opened their doors, I have had several problems with their billing department over the years and they are always right no matter how bad you show them they screwed up. I kept going back because I really liked Doctor Wright but since they have gone into business with Baptist Works I think I have to find a new doctor. I had an appointment last week and when I showed up to check in I was asked to sign their (Baptist Works) new HIPPA form. I requested a copy of the form to read over and after looking around for a while they found me a copy and I started reading it. I was shocked to see that they require you to allow them to give out your personal information for fund raising and charity efforts. When i stated to them that I do not agree with this they informed me that I had to sign it if I wanted to see the doctor. They do not care any thing about their patients at all and by refusing care to their sick patients they show what their practice is all about, the all mighty dollar. I suggest that anyone who has been going there for years to refuse to give up your rights to privacy by signing a new HIPPA form. If enough people refuse, maybe the Doctors will finally let the business end of the practice know that when every thing is said and done it is supposed to be about the patients.

Dr. Amy Davis is the WORST doctor I have ever had!!!!. I have had Fibromyalgia for many years. I recently moved to Louisville, KY and could no longer see my primary care physician. I went to Dr. Amy F. Davis when going through one of the worst Fibromyalgia attacks of my life. She took me off of my Lexapro and put me on Savella. The medicine made me ten times worse. All of my syptoms were considered rare but extremely serious. When I called and told them all of this I was told 1 of 3 people would contact me that day. No call was made till over 24 hours later. When finally returned the nurse only knew 2 of my 9 symptoms. After repeating everything I had already told her over a day before she told me to just stop taking the medicine. Anyone who has ever taken these kind of drugs knows you can not just stop taking a medicine without being weined off of it because of serious withdrawls. Amy Davis refused to speak to me over the phone herself. They said if I wanted I could try a new sample but had to come to them even though I was shaking so terribly that I should not have been driving. After getting there I continued to try to speak to her to try to let her know how serious the situation was. She was conveniently on lunch. I left her a two page note explaining that I did not think she or her nurse realized how bad the situation was and for her to call me personally by that day or I had to see a new doctor. Three hours later I called again to see that she had gotten the note. The nurse told me she had but would not speak to me over the phone and I had to make an appointment. I made the appointment for the same day two hours later. I could no longer drive my symptoms were so bad. I had to call my mother who also is very sick and lives 45 minutes away just to take me. She got stuck in traffic. I called back and explained all of this to the woman on the appointment line and asked if I could extend my appointment just 15 min. ( I was shecdualed for 4:15) She was very sweet and told me she would ask. Amy Davis refused and said they would be locking the doors at exactly 4:15 the time of my appointment. My mother was right around the corner by this time and drove all this way for nothing. I had the worst experience of my life with Dr. Amy F. Davis. I wouldn't reccomend this doctor to my worst enemy! She could have killed me. I went back to my primary care physician Dr. Burke who works in Jeffersonville, IN. So, if your really sick and need a doctor who will listen and take care of you, who will call you back when you need them to DONT GO TO DR. AMY F. DAVIS!

Doctors are good, Support staff non-caring. I like and respect my doctor, Dr. Copley, he saved my life. He ran a PSA while i was in my 40's and found cancer before it was out of control. They reacted very quickly to my elevated PSA i was at the urologist the day after my blood work had come back. i have or my family members have gone to Dr.'s Wright, O'Brian, and Dunaway and have had very good expriences with all they would all get 4 to 5 stars.

The receptionest is disrespectfull, unfriendly, and rude. you feel as though you are bothering her. She would not work for me. The friendliest person you have should welcome you.

I have not had the proublem with the billing staff that other have had. they have helped with any issue. They are not that friendly but never have i been treated rudely.

Just bad business. So I called to get my annual checkup. The receptionist ends up scheduling me for a "regular appointment" which happened not to be covered by insurance. Then I call billing to try to get the problem fixed, and they won't hear it. I write a page long letter trying to explain things and get back a one sentence reply telling me to pay my bill when they screwed up. I thought the customer was always right. Not here though. I've only visited once, and I guarantee, I will never go back. If you want to save yourself some stress and frustration, go somewhere else.

Poor at best. I had problems with the billing department. When I called to get things straightened out, the woman talked over me, and insisted she was right. She was outright disrespectful. If you value customer service, do not go here.

Avoid the Rudeness. They do not EVER return voicemail, staff is RUDE, and uncaring. Highly recommend staying away from this office!
