There was a time when Ramsis Cafe on the World was the best little restaurant in the Highlands, back when Ramsi actively ran the place. But they have expanded several times since then, with each expansion diluting the service and quality of the food -- this is why I call success the kiss of death. These days, it's hit-or-miss. I too love the tortellini which usually comes out consistently good, but other dishes have, well, sucked. My advice: Peruse the menu with a critical eye and be mindful for dishes that the kitchen can't mess up.
Pros: Unique and varied menu
Cons: Consistency is a problem

GREAT FOOD. TONS OF SEATING. FULL BAR. GREAT ATMOSPHERE. OPEN LATE. NEED I SAY MORE? When you are in Louisville visiting, you must visit Ramsi's. Located in the heart of the Highlands:)!
Pros: Everything
Cons: Sometimes you have to wait for a table...

We were seated directly in front of the door when it was snowing outside. Every time the door opened the freezing wind was unbearable. Had the service been better, it may not have been so miserable. Our waitress ( we never got her name) was horrible, I do not understand how she continues to be employed by the service industry. Not only did she make herself scarce most of the time when she did appear, she got everything wrong. Ramsi's used to be my favorite place to go. I was utterly embarassed at the fact that this was the first time I brought my boyfriend & we were severly disappointed. We ordered a BBC Pale ALe & got a Bells Cream Stout these dont even sound the same much less look alike. The Moussa Kan was bland . The Polo Nuevo Havana should have came with a knife . A small salad & side of potatoes were six dollars extra . Entrees should come with sides . We are willing to give it another try so hopefully next time will be alot better ( We will refuse the same waitress)

The perfect neighborhood restaurant: The broad menu offers something for everyone (my family's favorite is the Tortallini Graciella, a lush mix of pasta, tomatoes, broccolli and mushrooms in a cream sauce, chicken or shrimp optional). The staff definately dotes on small children and the quick service means most kids can make it through the meal without a breakdown. We usually eat before 6:30 and have now wait for a table, but if you must dine during peak hours, there is a terrific bookstore next door that you can entertain the kids in until your table is ready (and the hostess will come get you when it is time to be seated). There is a large room upstairs for groups/parties.
Pros: broad menu, great staff, unique character
Cons: crowded at peak hours

Ramsi's is a great, unique restaurant that never disappoints. Though it has it's drawbacks, such as almost always having a wait, there's a reason for this: people love it and come back for more. The atmosphere is relaxed and fun, the food is authentic and satisfying and the price is reasonable for what you get!
Pros: great unique food, reasonable, neat location

This is one of the worst restaurants I have EVER been to! Cold food, bad food. I thought it was very expensive for a pita bread sandwich! My co-diner could barely eat her food. Lets' just sum it up and say we were extremely disappointed.

It's a full-proof, crowd pleaser. Great value thru generous portions and an interesting menu. It's awfully busy with a wait even during the week, but the bartender will gladly keep you occupied in the meantime. Beware: they don't serve liquor!!! I was shocked, but no biggie because they've got vino! The service staff is generally professional and knowledgable, but sometimes moody.

Good food. I was surprised to see this restaurant listed under cheap eats, though. My seafood dish was around $15. There was plenty of food and I was stuffed! I would eat there again next year when I visit Louisville.
Pros: good atmosphere, good service, not a kid place
Cons: no "no smoking" area, not a kid place

I believe this is the best restaurant in Louisville. Ramsi's has an extensive menu. You can get about anything that you want there. They are eager to help you make a choice or vary their dishes to please you. They are great about recommending entrees. My favorite entree is the Pollo Nuevo Havana chicken. This dish is fabulous. The Brie Bernadette is my favorite appetizer. The wait staff has been there for quite some time, so your service is always great. Ramsi's has a relaxed atmosphere with an eclectic twist.
Pros: Great Food, Large Menu, Cozy Dining Experienc
Cons: No Reservations, Parking

Everything on the menu is excellent and there is so much to choose from all different regions of the world! And the prices are very reasonable for all the food that you get. Awesome foccacia bread, delicious CuBean burrito, filling pasta dishes, majestic sea bass, and much more. I NEVER have room for dessert. I don't know if I have ever seen any patrons eating dessert. The food is so good and plentiful there is never any room for dessert. A unique place to take out of town guests.
Pros: Lots of food, Good Value, Prompt service
Cons: No "no smoking" sect., Always crowded
