First, they do have a lot of stuff. And they have some decent stuff. but there is also a LOT of junk. And sometimes I think they price by weight. $1 Dollar Tree items can run $2.42. Often I see items which are more than original retail! And more often I see them priced above what store sa;le price would normally be (sometimes even with store sale price tags! Sizes marked on tags are often different than those on the manufacturer label. Prices have really gone up in 2008. They might sell more if they got more realistic about pricing. And every couple of years they reorganize the entire store which makes it confusing. Often times they are so crowded with items that you can't even push a cart through or around the aisles.

All in all...OK to go to but not the mecca it once was...sigh.

Decent thrift store -- in Portland off 22nd st exit off 64

This is a decent thrift store. If you're expecting service, you can go somewhere more expensive. It's bare bones. Pretty good size store, This one is consistently better than the Preston Location. I come looking for affordable clothing for work, costumes, christmas sweaters, decorations, and knick nacks... they have a huge selection... also lots of random shoes if you're into the 80s and have relatively small feet. some are pretty cool.

Please, just make sure you know you're entering a thrift store and not target, the other review from lilybug is awful. Do you honestly go to a thrift store expecting service? Not me! I'm going for deals!

• Pros: knick nacks, good for costumes, basic clothing
• Cons: prices a little above what you'd think

Horrible Experience!!!!!

I did not shop at the Carter street location, but I had a terrible experience at the Preston HWY location today. My daughter ( 4yrs Old) and I had picked up a couple of Barbies for her. I had a cart full and went to check out there was no price on the Barbie that she had been playing with. They said could not sell this to me. I asked for a manager and was sent to a woman in the back who OBVIOUSLY DID NOT WANT TO BE BOTHERED!!!! She was pricing other items but refused to price the Barbie. Needless to say, my daughter started to cry .I left everything that I had at the register and told them I would not be back and there response was " That's Okay" . Nice busines tactics. I will not EVER shop there again!!!!!!!!!

• Cons: Workers who do not speak fluent english, bad management!!!!!
