I was really impressed with how clean and well kept this zoo was. We went on a busy day and they still had everything looking great. There was a very well kept walking path and easy access to the animals even with a stroller. Nice variety of animals. They were doing more rennovation even as we visited. Can't wait to go back and see what new things have been done. They also offer special days where kids are free. Great experience!

The Louisville Zoo is more than just another zoo. More than 1,300 animals from around the globe are featured in naturalistic and mixed-animal settings, creating a well-rounded environment for both visitors and inhabitants.
Features
Horticulturists re-create environments of the Indonesian islands, African grasslands and Asian plains. Tapirs, orangutans and Komodo dragons mix among the trees, rocks and simulated beaches of Malaysia. The Herpaquarium holds more than 100 species of reptiles, amphibians and fish in ecologically balanced surroundings. Check out the black-footed ferret, woolly monkeys, polar bears, Siberian tigers, maned wolves and white rhinos--all play a huge part in the zoo's conservation and species survival programs. Also at the zoo: train rides, snack bars, a gift shop and amphitheater.
