The Louisville Zoo is an AWESOME way to spend the day. With all of the new additions and upcoming additions, the Louisville Zoo is quickly becoming one of the best zoo's in the US. Pack a lunch and spend the day. Lots and lots to do! I recommend getting a membership that is good for 1 full year. A great money saver!

PROS: Awesome exhibits, beautiful landscaping, clean

CONS: Food is expensive

Stunning landscapes create ecologically sound habitats for a variety of species ranging from pygmy hippos to Siberian tigers.

The Louisville Zoo is more than just another zoo. More than 1,300 animals from around the globe are featured in naturalistic and mixed-animal settings, creating a well-rounded environment for both visitors and inhabitants.

Features
Horticulturists re-create environments of the Indonesian islands, African grasslands and Asian plains. Tapirs, orangutans and Komodo dragons mix among the trees, rocks and simulated beaches of Malaysia. The Herpaquarium holds more than 100 species of reptiles, amphibians and fish in ecologically balanced surroundings. Check out the black-footed ferret, woolly monkeys, polar bears, Siberian tigers, maned wolves and white rhinos--all play a huge part in the zoo's conservation and species survival programs. Also at the zoo: train rides, snack bars, a gift shop and amphitheater.
