Fun Day

I liked to see the animals especially the new lion they just got. The parking is sort of awkward and I really thought the price was too high for what you got. The cages looked clean though and had unusual animals for the area. I was comparing it to Cincinnati Zoo, and was less than satisfied, but it is still great to bring the kids.
Stunning landscapes create ecologically sound habitats for a variety of species ranging from pygmy hippos to Siberian tigers.

Facts
The Louisville Zoo is more than just another zoo. More than 1,300 animals from around the globe are featured in naturalistic and mixed-animal settings, creating a well-rounded environment for both visitors and inhabitants.
Features
Horticulturists re-create environments of the Indonesian islands, African grasslands and Asian plains. Tapirs, orangutans and Komodo dragons mix among the trees, rocks and simulated beaches of Malaysia. The Herpaquarium holds more than 100 species of reptiles, amphibians and fish in ecologically balanced surroundings. Check out the black-footed ferret, woolly monkeys, polar bears, Siberian tigers, maned wolves and white rhinos--all play a huge part in the zoo's conservation and species survival programs. Also at the zoo: train rides, snack bars, a gift shop and amphitheater.
