Come see the animals! by Kim W. at InsiderPages

The Louisville Zoo is a great place to visit. Although, it may not be as big as some zoos in other cities it is still a nice zoo. I love the beautiful aviary where birds will eat nectar right out of your hand. Gorilla Forest was another great exhibit, but there was a line to get in on the day we went. It was worth the wait though. Admission is $10.95 for adults and $7.95 for children. I thought it was worth the money. There is a train and carousel for the kids. The place was clean and the staff was friendly. There is plenty of parking.
Stunning landscapes create ecologically sound habitats for a variety of species ranging from pygmy hippos to Siberian tigers.

Facts
The Louisville Zoo is more than just another zoo. More than 1,300 animals from around the globe are featured in naturalistic and mixed-animal settings, creating a well-rounded environment for both visitors and inhabitants.
Features
Horticulturists re-create environments of the Indonesian islands, African grasslands and Asian plains. Tapirs, orangutans and Komodo dragons mix among the trees, rocks and simulated beaches of Malaysia. The Herpaquarium holds more than 100 species of reptiles, amphibians and fish in ecologically balanced surroundings. Check out the black-footed ferret, woolly monkeys, polar bears, Siberian tigers, maned wolves and white rhinos--all play a huge part in the zoo's conservation and species survival programs. Also at the zoo: train rides, snack bars, a gift shop and amphitheater.
